C2 Class (The Bumblebees)

Melbourne’s C2-class trams are five-section Alstom Citadis 302 trams built in La Rochelle, France. Originally built for the tram network in Mulhouse, France, they were leased for to use in Melbourne in 2008. In November 2010 the Victorian State Government began negotiations to acquire the C2-trams, with all five purchased in 2012/13. The trams operate on route 96, and on occasion the route 86a shorts from Parliament station to the old Route 75 terminus at the Remand Centre at the intersection of La Trobe and Spencer Streets when required.

They have carried quite the range of liveries, including art tram liveries over the years.
