Weathering Photos
W8 #928 (March 16, 2021, Spring & Bourke Streets and Docklands Melbourne VIC)
Of import this time is the weathering’s bidirectional nature. Top to bottom, right to left (indicating the other end leading). Note the spatter above the sill, and amber flasher.
A closeup view of the cant-rail, upper body, vent light and upper window sash showing the weathering patterns.
This time the weathering around the cab, top to bottom, noticing the patterns caused by the movement of the tram during the storm. Notice that below the sill there is almost no carbon and dirt deposit.
In this photo notice the weathering above the amber flasher and the trailing nature of the weathering suggesting direction of travel.
Light weathering only this time around, note especially the very localised nature of the weathering around the forward handrail and offside front window (taken at Docklands)
Again at Docklands, weathering further back toward the pantograph getting heavier as you go back.
