This is not an article on how to perfectly prime a model. I’m no expert on this. However, I have over the years learned a thing or two on how to go about priming my models, and more importantly how to get a great first layer of paint down to enhance the finish later on.
Some of the topics to be covered include:
- Why using a painting system, and not just a bunch of different paints is important
- How to use primers to check your prep work
- How primer colours affect the topcoat
- When wet sanding your primer is important (think high gloss finishes here folks)
